I'm talking about sequels for movies. This year there is going to be a record breaking 27 sequels to movies-that's nearly one-fifth of all the wide-release films! With Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Scream 4, Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part One) there will also be the most part fours ever released in one calendar year. Not only that, there will be an equal number of part fives, breaking yet another record with: Fast Five, Final Destination 5, Puss in Boots, X-Men: First Class, and Winnie the Pooh. There will also be 2 part seven films (The Muppets & Rise of the Apes) and one part eight (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2)!Talk about a trend for 2011....we all will be at the movies, so plan your wardrobe accordingly!!

Double Take at the Oscars

The lovely ladies at the 83rd annual Oscars made you do a double take. Are they showing some skin or is it nude fabric. Clearly, the designers are smart enough and put nude fabric underneath. But these ladies  went a little risque this oscar season. They pull it off well!!

The Raiding Braiding

Something is smelly a bit fishy.....and it happens to be the braids. The fishtail braid is all the rage. It gives a whole new spin and edge on the always popular braid.

Pleats-Yes, Please

Vertical pleats, if done correctly, can look beautiful on any body type. The structure of vertical pleats hides all imperfections and has a slimming effect. So go ahead have that muffin.

The return of the M-URSE

Well once again ladies we have competition with who has the best handbag and the guys are the competition. They have been seen lately with designer bags that any lady would be jealous of such as Puma, Lacoste, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton brands.

Have you seen the CLIP?

Sadly I have seen this new trend everywhere. The French are a tad lazy with their hair it seems. They use hair stylists clips to do their hair and keep it in. Americans usually use bobby pins to make it seem like their isn't anything holding it back but these ladies are not afraid of showing their obnoxious clips.

O-O-O it's Ornamentation

Ornamentation, Bling, Broches, Epaulettes, etc......They are all a part of the clothing today. You can find them all over the clothes or just a spot or too. Even at TextWorld you could see the future fabrics having ornamentation as a main theme.

Advertisements = Entertaining

This ad reads "Find your insurance!" "Car insurance carefree"......Makes some sense but I have yet to see a girl hug her car because she had car insurance or the idea of being carefree so you hug your car. I thought it was amusing!

This may get confusing too since you are not sure if the emphasis is the girl or the hot dog, but in fact the product trying to be sold is the beer in the bottom right corner that is produced in France.

This ad isn't about paint at all.....they are trying to sell Insurance. Could you have picked that up?

It seems in France they don't have the same rules and restrictions as American advertising does. It also seems that some advertising doesn't have to even make sense with what message is trying to get across like in America.

Barcelona Bold

It seems that where the location is a little warmer the happy citizens dress a little bolder. I saw tons of bold color apparel. Typically they would even match two of the brights together and then keep the rest very minimal.

Visual displays are a vision to see

Sadly I have not taken pics of all the awesome window displays that I have seen. I have noticed in the windows that they don't just throw a mannequin in the window and slap some clothes on and call it pretty. They take time and effort into their designs and they are magnificent. If you travel to Paris or Barcelona make it a point to shop....such an inconvenience i'm sure. Look at their windows and designs that they construct. It will not be a waste of time.

From Tourism to Turbanism

Being a tourist anywhere you go....you inadvertently are a people watcher. Luckily in fashion people watching is how you know how to stay on your game. The turban hats are something that I have seen. They can be found all over; the markets, the runway, the red carpet, and the movie screen.....they have caught my eye with their unique design and bold statement.

What you see is not what you get

From the front you can see a red shiny suit that grabs your eye......from the back it's a whole new look, the classic gray mens suit. This is by far the most original design I saw at the EHUD fashion show. The different textures in one garment is catching on. To this extreme, probably not, but you see it in shoes, clothes, accessories. That one fabric is just not enough.
